WHAT DRIVES ME

My passion is working with mission and values-based businesses and organizations to emphasize relationship-building and connecting all people, programs, and local government resources to strengthen our communities and improve the quality of life of all people.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

As a communicator and community builder, I have always focused on people, programs, and partnerships in my professional and volunteer career.  I bring more than 20 years of senior leadership experience working in large nonprofits and local government, engaging people and their voices, building inclusive teams, and delivering programs and services to the community.

In my role as Public Services Manager for Saint Paul's Public Works Department, I am a connector between the policy makers and staff at city hall and the residents. I am regularly at the table providing residents' insights and perspectives when issues are being discussed. One of my favorite job duties is public information officer where I get to collaborate with residents, businesses, organizations, and city staff to successfully address community concerns.

Lisa's Vision for Apple Valley

I am passionate about community-building, developing partnerships, and bringing people to the table to address challenges and create solutions to keep our city safe and thriving now - and for years to come.

As an Apple Valley city council member, I will work together with you and our neighbors to:

Build and Maintain our Public Infrastructure

Prioritizing investments for the upkeep and improvement of roads, sidewalks, and sewer and water systems to ensure safe and efficient public facilities and services.

Foster Economic Growth & Development

Advocating for increased housing options, mixed-use business opportunities, and retail expansion in Apple Valley will not only attract businesses and foster economic growth but also diversify our tax base.

Steward our Investment in our Parks and Community Spaces

Collaborating with residents to enhance our parks, facilities, and programs that encourage outdoor activities, cultural events, and recreational opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities.

Ensure Public Safety

Support our police and fire departments and EMS with community resources and training opportunities to address neighborhood concerns and maintain a safe community.

Lead Community Conversations

Gathering resident and business input builds trust, transparency, and connections, ensuring that more Apple Valley voices are reflected in council decisions.

I look forward to working together to create a safe and vibrant Apple Valley for everyone.
